Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions are a cosmetic treatment in which synthetic lashes are attached to individual natural eyelashes using a specialized adhesive. The extensions are typically made from materials such as silk, faux mink, or synthetic fibers, and are available in a variety of lengths, thicknesses, and styles.

Classic eyelash extensions involve attaching a single extension lash to each natural lash, resulting in a natural and subtle enhancement of the eyelashes. The extensions used in classic sets are typically a little thicker and more dramatic than natural lashes, but the focus is on enhancing the individual’s natural lashes rather than creating a dramatic effect.

Volume eyelash extensions, on the other hand, involve the application of multiple, thinner extension lashes to each natural lash. This technique results in a more dramatic and voluminous appearance, as the increased number of extensions creates a fuller and more dense lash line. Volume sets are typically preferred by those who desire a more dramatic and glamorous look, and are popular choice among brides or bridesmaid.

We are proud to say that all our lash fans are carefully handmade by our technicians – we do not use any clusters or premade fans that may potentially damage client’s natural lashes.

While eyelash extensions can be a great option for many people, they are not suitable for everyone.

Generally, lash extensions are best for clients who have healthy and straight natural lashes with no bald patches or gaps. If you have curly lashes or have recently had a lash lift, the bonding area between the synthetic lash and natural lash becomes smaller and can lead to premature lash falls.

In addition, if you have alopecia, which is a condition that causes bald patches, unfortunately we cannot apply lashes as there are no natural lashes for the synthetic lash to attach to. If you are unsure if lash extensions are suitable for you, please come in for a consultation and we can assess your natural lashes together.

At Mollylash, we understand that some clients may have sensitive eyes, and we have a sensitive glue option available for them. Our sensitive glue is designed to be less fumey and clear in color, making it suitable for clients with sensitive eyes. However, it is still important to inform your technician about any known allergies or sensitivities during your consultation, so they can ensure that the products used during your appointment are suitable for you.

To answer your question, we do not recommend getting lash extensions, lash lift, cosmetic tattoo, brow lamination, and brow tint while pregnant. This is because during pregnancy, the hormones in your body can be imbalanced, and we cannot predict if this could trigger an allergic reaction to the lash or brow products. Even if you have not had an allergic reaction in the past, we still recommend avoiding any unnecessary risks during pregnancy. We care about the safety and well-being of our clients, and we recommend waiting until after pregnancy to resume lash and brow treatments.

Eyelash Extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. This cycle varies on everyone, but generally refill should only be required every 2 to 3 weeks.

Mollylash has a strict policy of refills pricing. Please note that all refill appointments that are booked more than 4 weeks apart will  be charged as a removal and full set. It is highly suggested for our clients to regularly come in for touch ups every 3 weeks, to ensure lash outgrown are removed and new extensions reapplied.

We want to dispel the myth that lash extensions ruin your natural lashes.

When applied correctly and with care, eyelash extensions can be safe and won’t harm the health of your natural lashes. However, it’s important to avoid rubbing your eyes or tugging on the extensions, as this can lead to lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes. Additionally, using lash shampoo daily is highly recommended to prevent the buildup of oil or makeup, which can potentially lead to eye infections.

Our goal is to help you achieve the desired lash look while maintaining the health of your natural lashes, and we are committed to providing safe and high-quality services to all our clients.

To prepare for your eyelash extension appointment, we recommend that you come to the appointment with a fresh face – this means no make-up on your eyes or lashes. It’s important to have clean lashes before your appointment, so please ensure that you wash your face and remove any make-up, oils or debris from your eye area. This will help to ensure a strong bond between your natural lashes and the lash extensions. We also recommend that you remove your contact lenses before the appointment, as it will be more comfortable for you to keep your eyes closed for the duration of the appointment. If you wear glasses, please bring them with you to the appointment.

We kindly advise our clients to avoid excessive exposure to steam, sauna treatments, and swimming while wearing eyelash extensions. The heat and humidity from these activities can gradually weaken the bonding agent and reduce the retention of your extensions.

We kindly advise our clients not to wear mascara while having extensions on, as it can cause the extensions to clump and be difficult to remove without damaging them. Instead, we recommend enjoying the fullness and length of your extensions on their own.

When it comes to other eye makeup products, such as eyeliner or eyeshadow, we recommend choosing non-waterproof options to avoid the need for oil-based makeup removers. Using oil-based products can deteriorate the bond of the glue and cause the extensions to shed prematurely.

However, if you choose to wear any kind of eye makeup, it's essential to clean it thoroughly. If there is still eye makeup that we need to remove when you come to the appointment, please note that an additional makeup removal fee may apply.

By following these guidelines, we can help you maintain the beauty and longevity of your eyelash extensions, and ensure that you can enjoy them for as long as possible.

We would like to emphasize that not all makeup removers are suitable for use with eyelash extensions. To help lengthen the retention period of your extensions, we recommend using non-oil based makeup removers. Oil-based products can break down the adhesive and cause the extensions to fall off prematurely. By using non-oil based makeup removers, you can help to maintain the integrity of the extensions and ensure that they last for as long as possible.

To clean your eyelash extensions, we recommend using a gentle approach. Start by removing any non-waterproof eye makeup with a non-oil gentle makeup cleanser. Ensure that the cleanser is specifically formulated for use around the eyes and is safe for eyelash extensions. Once makeup is removed, incorporate our Mollylash Lash Shampoo into your daily routine. Our specialized formula is designed to effectively cleanse your extensions without compromising their integrity. Simply apply a small amount of the shampoo to your lashes, gently use the brush and swipe from the lash line outwards, and rinse thoroughly with water. By using our lash shampoo daily, you can maintain the cleanliness and longevity of your eyelash extensions.

1. Avoid exposing them to excessive steam, sauna, or swimming.
2. Refrain from using mascara on the extensions to prevent clumping and damage.
3. Try to sleep on your back to avoid rubbing or crushing the extensions while sleeping.
4. Use only non-oil based cleansing products when washing your face or removing makeup.
5. Gently brush your extensions every morning and night with a clean spoolie brush to maintain their shape and prevent tangling.
6. To keep your lashes looking their best, we recommend scheduling a refill appointment every 2 to 3 weeks. This will help to maintain their fullness and ensure that they continue to look beautiful and natural.

We want to assure our clients that allergic reactions to eyelash extensions are extremely rare, but they can happen in some cases. If you have a history of extreme latex or band-aid allergies, you may be at a higher risk of having an allergic reaction to the adhesive used in the extensions. If you have experienced an allergic reaction to eyelash extensions in the past, such as swollen or puffy eyelids and under-eye area, we recommend against getting lash extensions again, as it is highly likely that the reaction will reoccur.

If you do experience an allergic reaction to the extensions, please seek medical attention immediately. We will also remove the extensions as soon as possible to minimize any discomfort or damage – only after we obtain a medical certificate that it is safe to perform removal on you. However, please be reassured that in the vast majority of cases, eyelash extensions are safe and do not cause any adverse reactions. Our technicians are highly skilled and trained to use only top-quality products to ensure your safety and satisfaction.

At Mollylash, we have junior, senior, and master technicians who are all talented and skilled at providing high-quality eyelash extensions.

Our master technicians have the most experience and have often won or entered in championships, showing consistent results. Our senior technicians have more than 2 years of experience and have also demonstrated a consistent level of quality work in a timely manner. Our junior technicians have less than 2 years of experience and may take a little longer to finish a lash set, but they are all highly talented and have been handpicked by us.

We only hire technicians who show potential and have a passion for the art of eyelash extensions. Rest assured that no matter which technician you choose, you will receive a beautiful set of lashes tailored to your desired look.

While it may be tempting to remove your eyelash extensions at home, we strongly advise against it.

Attempting to remove the extensions yourself can cause damage to your natural lashes, including pulling or tugging on them, which can damage the hair follicle and lead to permanent hair loss. Instead, we recommend that you come to our shop to get your extensions professionally removed.

Our technicians are trained to safely and gently remove the extensions without causing any harm to your natural lashes. We use a special remover solution that effectively dissolves the adhesive bond between the extension and your natural lash, making the removal process easy and painless. So please, for the health and safety of your natural lashes, leave the removal process to the professionals.

It depends on whether your natural lashes have returned to their original, unlifted state. If they're still curled, you can wait until they've relaxed, or consider our 'lash relax' procedure to reverse the lift. However, we're unable to apply lash extensions to lashes that are excessively curled.

Eyebrows

Brow lamination is a beauty treatment that involves applying a series of chemicals to the eyebrows to straighten, set and smooth the hairs in an upwards direction. This creates a fuller, more defined and uniform look for the eyebrows, as it helps to tame unruly hairs and give the illusion of thicker and more voluminous brows.

The process usually involves brushing the brow hairs into place, applying a lifting solution to set them in that position, and then applying a neutralizer to keep them in place.

The treatment can last for several weeks, and can be a great option for those looking to enhance their natural brows without having to fill them in with makeup every day.

Both Henna and dye/tint offer semi-permanent solutions for fuller, defined brows. Here's how they compare:

- Similarities: Both involve applying semi-permanent dye to enhance brow appearance. Henna utilizes a natural dye from the henna plant, while our dye/tint is dermatologist-tested and chemical-free, ensuring gentleness around the eyes.

- Differences: Henna tends to last longer on brow hair and is suitable for oily skin types. Dye/tint provides a more natural look, while henna offers a powdery, brushed appearance.

Ultimately, the choice depends on the client's preference, with both options delivering beautiful results tailored to individual needs.

Lash lift and tint

Lash lift results typically last 6 to 8 weeks, while tinting results may gradually fade over 3 to 4 weeks.

Yes, our procedure uses gentle, dermatologist-tested products suitable for sensitive eyes and delicate skin.

It's recommended to avoid eye makeup for the first 24 hours after the procedure to allow the products to set properly. After 24 hours, feel free to use mascara or eye make up as usual.

The curl from a lash lift gradually diminishes as your natural lashes grow and shed, typically lasting until the next growth cycle or around 8 weeks.

It's recommended to have any existing eyelash extensions removed prior to the procedure to ensure optimal results.

To maintain your lash lift and tint results, avoid rubbing or pulling your lashes and refrain from sleeping on your face to prevent altering the position of your lifted lashes. You can use a gentle oil cleanser around your lash lift, and consider using a lash lift conditioner, available to purchase at Mollylash, to nourish moisture back into your natural lashes.

Cosmetic Tattoo

Microblading is a technique that uses a handheld tool with small needles to create tiny hair-like strokes on the skin, which are then filled with pigment to create the appearance of natural eyebrow hair. The strokes are usually very fine and crisp, mimicking the look of real eyebrow hair.

Powdery brows, on the other hand, involve using a machine or handheld tool to create a soft, powdered effect on the eyebrows. This technique is also sometimes referred to as ombre brows or shading. Instead of creating individual hair-like strokes, the pigment is applied in a soft gradient, gradually getting darker towards the tail of the brow. This technique is ideal for those with fuller eyebrows who just want to enhance their shape and fill in any gaps.

Combination brows is a semi-permanent eyebrow technique that combines microblading and shading (powdered brows). The result is a natural-looking brow with a defined shape and a soft, powdered finish.

The main differences between Inner Eyeliner, 3D Eyeliner, and Misty Eyeliner in cosmetic tattooing are as follows:

- Inner Eyeliner Tattoo: Provides a subtle enhancement by darkening the lash line without extending beyond it, creating a thicker lash base without an eyeliner flick.

- 3D Eyeliner Tattoo: Offers a medium-width eyeliner tattoo for a bolder look suitable for daily makeup wearers, striking a balance between boldness and natural appearance.

- Misty Eyeliner Tattoo: Mimics the effect of a misty and smokey eyeshadow look through cosmetic tattooing technique.

The 'wing' or 'no wing' option refers to the presence or absence of a flick at the end corner of the eyeliner tattoo. We offer both options to cater to individual preferences. The pricing varies depending on the type of eyeliner tattoo selected and whether the client opts for the winged or non-winged style.

Touch-up pricing at Mollylash is tiered based on elapsed time since your initial appointment: 1-2 months, 3-6 months, 7-12 months, and 12-18 months.

Appointments booked past 18 months are treated as new initial appointments.
